Introduction to Gestalt Therapy Workshop - December 2026

Please join us for this one-day, in-person workshop, An Introduction to Gestalt Therapy.

Gestalt therapy is a humanistic, existential and process-oriented therapeutic approach. Gestalt therapy lays out a clear path toward more authentic and holistic functioning through differentiated contact with oneself and the world. This results in greater capacity for connection with both self and others. The gestalt approach is non-pathologizing and based on the assumption that humans innately move toward growth and regulation within all levels of their environment.

All providers interested in a didactic, interactive, and experiential introduction to contemporary gestalt therapy are invited. Explore how a gestalt approach teaches you to identify and use your own unique internal reactions in the immediate moment to enhance the effectiveness of your personal therapeutic and interpersonal style. In this one-day intensive workshop, you will explore core gestalt concepts through theory discussions, live demonstration, supportive supervision, and hands-on practice of gestalt therapy-based skills.

Somatic Ethics in Counseling: From Fear to Good Judgement Workshop - February 2027

This live, experiential workshop examines ethics as a relational, embodied, and context-sensitive practice. Participants will engage in somatic mapping, values-based decision making, and case-based analysis to strengthen their capacity for ethical clarity in clinical work. An ethical decision-making model will be introduced and used in the evaluation of ethical case studies during the workshop.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify at least five common ethical dilemmas clinicians face in everyday practice, including dilemmas that may arise in work with specific communities.

  2. Map their personal somatic threat response and name two or more self-regulation strategies to restore judgment under stress.

  3. Apply a seven-step ethical decision-making model (e.g. Forester-Miller & Davis, ACA) to two challenging cases (dual relationships; technology/AI) and document their reasoning.

  4. Draft a Personal Statement of Relational Ethics including internal and external supports (self-care, consultation, supervisory structure).

  5. Develop a consultation & documentation plan that adheres to NBCC‐style standards (clear objectives, reasoning steps, evaluation) for professional practice
